The Benefits of Chiropractic Care for Pregnancy

It’s a well know fact that pregnant women can benefit from regular chiropractic care before, during, and after pregnancy.

However, some might ask: is chiropractic care safe during pregnancy? Should I, or my loved ones trust this method of care? The answer is yes.

Chiropractors are trained to care for the issues and concerns of pregnant women. These professionals monitor their patients, often helping to improve a woman’s fertility, along with the overall wellness of a pregnant woman.

Some chiropractors are particularly interested in promoting a woman’s care during the various stages of pregnancy. Several specific chiropractic certifications indicate a chiropractor is particularly focused on infertility and pregnancy wellness. They include:

So how can a chiropractor help a pregnant woman? What does he or she do?

Chiropractic care can help a woman’s fertility rate, assist in relieving pain during pregnancy, help move the baby’s position within the womb, and can shorten labor time.

Improving a woman’s fertility rate

Care by a licensed chiropractor can help relieve problems with a woman’s reproductive health that may lead to fertility issues.

This is because regular spinal adjustment has been shown to help relieve pinched nerves, restore balance, and restore blood flow to reproductive organs. Women who report problems with conception often benefit from this type of care, and may want to consider chiropractic care.

Relieving discomfort

The physical changes of pregnancy may lead to discomfort for women, especially during the final trimester. During this time, a woman’s body experiences physical and hormonal changes that can lead to strain on the lower back, along with pain in the spine and hips.

When a chiropractor addresses this pain, he or she can adjust the pelvis to help bring the hips back into alignment and help eliminate the pain.

In this way, women who experience back strain, or other weight-bearing pain may be excellent candidates for chiropractic care. This is because regular chiropractic adjustments during pregnancy can often reduce or eliminate much of the pain.

Chiropractic care can help move the baby in the womb

If your baby is in a breech position, chiropractic techniques can help align a mother’s hips make it easier for the baby to turn. This can prevent many women from having to rely on C-section delivery.

Chiropractic methods include advanced studies of balance and proper position of a woman’s pelvis. Specifically trained chiropractors can use this knowledge to reduce stress to a woman’s uterus and supporting ligaments, muscles, and bones.

This type of balanced chiropractic care was pioneered by the late Larry Webster, D.C., Founder of the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA). The technique is known as the Webster Technique.

With regular chiropractic care, babies can often move into the most optimal birth position, and the problems associated with breech and other problematic labor presentations can be avoided. This type of optimal baby positioning helps to eliminate difficult labor, thereby making it easier and safer for both mother and child.

Chiropractic care can help speed delivery

Because a woman’s body has achieved the optimum position for birth, the duration of that birth can be shortened by correct chiropractic care. Many women who experience periodic adjustments throughout pregnancy report easier, faster births.

Chiropractic care after delivery

What’s more, regular chiropractic adjustment before conception and after childbirth are also helpful in optimizing a woman’s health by allowing a woman’s body to recover from the constraints of labor.

Women who suffer from pain in the hips and pelvis may benefit from postpartum adjustment and care as the woman’s body returns to a pre-pregnancy state.

Mothers who suffer from postpartum depression and other issues can also benefit from chiropractic care, as it may restore blood flow and improves the nervous system.

As more and more mothers seek the benefits of chiropractic care, more communities and health centers are on the lookout for doctors of chiropractic.

Women who are interested in the benefits of chiropractic care during pregnancy should discus these options with their healthcare provider. To be sure, they should look for the best options to support the body’s natural ability to function.

Rest assured, chiropractic care is safe for pregnant women. This is because a qualified chiropractor uses specific techniques that do not place pressure on a woman’s abdomen.…

The Causes Of Sensitive Teeth

Poor dental health may be a problem with some individuals who do not take care of their teeth and gums. However, there are other individuals who have been maintaining good oral hygiene but are having trouble with sensitive. Here are the nine top causes why people may have sensitive teeth:
1) Frequent gargling of mouthwash every day may cause sensitive teeth. Some mouthwashes may contain acids that can make teeth sensitivity worsen. If you are having problems with this, try to use a neutral fluoride mouth rinse.
2) Mouthwashes are not the only sources of acidic substances. Even the food you consume daily contains natural acids such as tomatoes, citrus fruits and juices. The acids can erode the enamel which protects your teeth. To neutralize the acid, you may eat a cheese of drink milk after eating. However, people who have hyperacidity may have to just stick to brushing their teeth after a meal.
3) Another cause of teeth sensitivity is the use of toothpastes with whiteners. These products contain bleaching solutions such as peroxide. Teeth whitening procedures can also cause this, thus inform you dentist about your condition prior to jumping into a teeth whitening procedure.
4) Receding gums can also cause sensitive teeth since it exposes the sensitive root which the gums should protectively cover. The roots can lead to the nerve in the middle of your teeth which is hyper-sensitive if exposed.
5) Brushing too hard and using hard-bristled toothbrushes can remove the tooth’s enamel and expose the dentin. There are tiny microscopic holes in the dentin wherein it stimulates the tooth nerves according to the temperature of the food that we eat.
6) Ironically, keeping a good dental hygiene may also cause teeth sensitivity. Dental procedures such as teeth cleaning, tooth restorations, crown replacement, and installation of dental retainers can cause tooth sensitivity for a short period. It is best to inform your dentist immediately if you encounter this after a dental procedure.
7) Chipped and cracked teeth are common causes for teeth sensitivity. If you are fond of biting into hard candies and even ice, this can lead to cracked teeth. Even sudden changes in the temperature of the food that you eat or large tooth filling can cause a crack tooth. The crack may also lead to other dental problems since bacteria can easily infect the sensitive roots and nerves.
8) Bruxism or teeth grinding can wear the protective enamel of the teeth. For athletes like weight lifters and even individuals having this problem during their sleep must talk to their dentist about wearing mouth guards or perhaps changing diet habits.
9) Once the enamel has been stripped off, a common problem that most individuals encounter is tooth decay. This ultimately leads to exposing the roots inside the teeth.…

AmeriPlan Dental Offers Savings and Security

Did you know that dental coverage is even less common in the U.S. than health insurance? Hundreds of thousands of people have no insurance coverage to protect the health of their teeth – and this can cost a lot in the long run. I’m Pregnant And My Back Hurts?

Back pain during pregnancy is a very common problem. Three out of four women experience some degree of back pain during pregnancy.

For some women, symptoms may begin before they are showing and last throughout pregnancy. The cause of back pain during pregnancy is related to many factors: change in body posture, hormones that cause the relaxation of connective tissue in the body, poor body mechanics and muscle fatigue. The actual incidence of a pinched nerve during pregnancy is very rare.

So, how do you relieve and manage back pain during pregnancy?

Regular aerobic exercise and general conditioning exercise, such as walking, swimming, and bicycling, are the best methods. These types of exercises increase muscle tone and strength, improve endurance and decrease fatigue. Swimming and water aerobics are also excellent exercises for pregnant women. Frequent position changes, including stretching throughout the day, sleeping on your side with a pillow between your legs, and using proper posture and body mechanics are also important in maintaining a healthy back. Care should be taken to use the larger muscles of the legs and arms in moving objects to prevent muscle strain. You may strengthen your leg muscles by doing lunges and squats.

If you experience back pain, you may apply moist heat and/or cold packs as needed to decrease pain. You can wear a pregnancy support or SI (sacroiliac) belt to decrease pain and improve posture. Medications, including over-the-counter ones, should be taken only under the direction of your physician or health professional.

If you have persistent back pain, which interferes with your overall function, talk to your GP urgently.

One of the best methods in restoring function and self-sufficiency in persons with disabilities and pain is utilising Neuroskeletal Therapy, which is safe and gentle during pregnancy.

Remember that most women who experience back pain during pregnancy do not have symptoms after delivery. Back strengthening exercises done throughout pregnancy will help you during labor and delivery and while caring for your growing infant after delivery.

5 Simple Tips to Help Melt Away Belly Fat Fast and Keep It Off!

If you want to melt away belly fat fast, you’ll need to follow a few simple rules that will dramatically boost your progress. This will keep you motivated, allowing you to make even more progress and keeping you from falling off the wagon, and regaining any fat you lose.
1. Consistency
I know this seems really obvious but it’s also really important. First, too many people get gung-ho when they start and right away they hit the gym six days a week, a couple of hours at a time. But they can’t sustain it so they burn out and quit after a few weeks, only to try it all again in six months. It’s a vicious cycle.
Yes, you need be consistent with your nutrition and workout program. But the key is that you are consistent with the RIGHT nutrition and workout program.
If you mindlessly follow the wrong diet or exercise program, being consistent isn’t going to get you the fat burning, muscle building results you want.
So be consistent, but first make sure you have the right program in place.
2. The Right Nutrition Program
This goes along with what I mentioned in number one. You need a nutrition program that works, that you can stick with over the long haul. This means no crazy starvation diets, no eating cabbage soup all day every day, or any other such nonsense.
You can eat a healthy, balanced diet that tastes good, too!
3. Smart Training (not JUST training)
You NEED to exercise. You can’t get quality results with nutrition alone. But, more importantly than exercising, you must exercise properly. What’s the point of exercising if you’re using a program that won’t get results?
Or worse, a program that causes injury so you can’t workout at all?
4. Rest
Rest is a crucial part of your health and fitness program if you want to get results. There are two parts to resting.
One, you need to get enough sleep. Chronic lack of adequate sleep will destroy any results you might get.
Two, your body needs to rest and recover from the workouts themselves. In order to burn calories, boost your metabolism, and build lean muscle, you need a lot less exercise than most people realize. The crucial aspect of training is quality work, not quantity.
And none of the work will matter if you don’t get enough rest between workouts. This is the time your body recovers and repairs itself, overcompensating for the workout and coming back stronger and fitter.
If you become chronically over trained you’ll start going backwards, feeling lethargic, not wanting to workout, getting weaker instead of stronger, losing hard earned muscle, etc.
5. Attitude
Your attitude truly is everything. Everything else on this list flows from your mindset. If you don’t have the proper mindset, you’ll never last anyway. Even if you do start a program and follow some great fitness tips, you won’t stick with it long enough to see results.
Get your head right and your body will follow.…

How To Lose Weight Without Nutritional Mistakes

Have you ever tried fad diets or gone on a weight loss program where you have to pay tons of money to marketers who make promises to help you slim down? Many people have gone down this road. What about those processed foods they offer you and tell you that it’s “real” food. What they don’t tell you is that even the “real” food can be processed food.
I’ve recently done some research on the different types of food products people recommend for weight loss. I discovered that if the liver which is the organ that normally breaks down fat is kept too busy, trying to break down all those chemicals in pre-packaged processed foods, it doesn’t work at maximum to burn fat. What about all the conflicting and confusing information about what is healthy to eat and what is not. Carbs or no carbs, butter or margarine, nuts or no nuts? The list goes on and on leaving everyone confused and frustrated.
A leading nutritionist has said that a lot of health experts seem to be making “nutritional mistakes” when telling you what and what not to eat. I also discovered that what works for one person does not necessarily work for another. Different people have different body types and will not be at their best if they lose too much weight. I’m sure you have noticed how some people after losing a lot of weight instead of looking healthy and attractive they look like their life has been injected out of them?
We have been told about good carbs vs. bad carbs, right? We’ve also been told that wheat bread and pasta are allowed on a healthy eating plan. Well, apparently wheat bread is not included in the good carbohydrates. What about fat vs. no fat? We need a certain amount of fat to stay at our healthiest. Here’s a surprise, soy milk is supposed to be good for you, but not necessarily. If it is processed, it forces your liver to work harder and less effectively.
So what does all this mean? My consensus was that unless you have a serious weight problem which requires medical attention, the best diet is no diet. Here are some tips to help get you get started on your new “no diet” eating plan.
• Learn which are the right foods and which are not
• Be patient with yourself
• Keep away from sugary unhealthy sweets
• Limit processed foods as much as possible
• Don’t compare your body type with someone else’s
• Even mild exercise ALWAYS enhances any type of weight loss program
• Drink plenty of water to boost your metabolism
• Eat a lot of fruits and vegetables
• Find a good eating plan and cookbook
• Journal your eating plan progress (especially the first few weeks)
Don’t think that you can lose weight by skipping a meal. Skipping any meal is always discouraged since as we all know it triggers your body into survival mode, which makes your body store all that fat. If you’re in a rush never let yourself go hungry, but instead enjoy a delicious apple on the road.…

Signs Of Tooth Enamel Erosion

We may not really easily diagnose tooth erosion since plaque is an invisible layer of bacteria that clings to our teeth and breaks down the enamel in time. We may not feel any pain while the process or erosion is taking place until we visit the dentist and discover that a tooth is already in bad shape. This can further be seen in tooth surfaces and sections that are hard to reach by just brushing. Most of the times, the erosion occurs on the inner surfaces between the teeth.
Without properly brushing and flossing your teeth, there is really a great probability that the enamel on some parts of your teeth is about to breakdown. Consequently, tooth decay occurs and the rest is irreversible. Even re-mineralization of the teeth cannot bring back the protective enamel layer on the teeth. Thus, there is no way of repairing the enamel loss and the only solution is to fill the holes caused by tooth decay with dental amalgam. There are even times when the dentist will just have to wait until the tooth has holes or has decayed prior to using a dental filling.
Nevertheless, there are some ways you can tell that the tooth is already decaying or if the enamel has already eroded. One way to tell is that the tooth has already become discolored and typically it will have a yellowish tinge. The degree of discoloration varies as it depends on the affected tooth area. Sometimes the person will also suffer from teeth sensitivity as the enamel wears out. Cracks and dents on the tooth edges and surfaces are also signs of tooth enamel loss. A change in tooth shape especially a more rounded shape on it may also mean that a pending tooth decay is about to occur.
To prevent enamel erosion, dental professionals suggest of modifying your daily diet especially for people who drink acidic, carbonated, and alcoholic beverages. Reducing the intake of sugary foods is also helpful as most types of bacteria in the mouth feasts on sugar. Even the type of sports you engage in may cause harm to your tooth enamel especially to swimmers wherein their teeth are exposed to chlorinated water.
There is no natural way of restoring the tooth enamel once it has eroded. So it is always best to use preventive methods by keeping a healthy diet and avoiding enamel destructive beverages. You may also use a straw when drinking acidic or carbonated beverages. Nonetheless, rinse with water after drinking these types of beverages. Necessarily, brush your teeth with fluoride toothpaste at least twice a day and include flossing and mouthwash in your daily oral hygiene.…
